Spanish AFE

The possibility that the players do not start the competition is getting closer: strike in sight. Discrepancies are, mainly, by the wage guarantee fund for players from clubs in bankruptcy law. Gymnast is often mentioned in discussions such as these. The League of professional football (LFP) and the Association of Spanish footballers (AFE) held a new meeting to negotiate the collective agreement in which both sides continued without concrete agreement, so the possibility that players do not start the competition is getting closer. Ten days after the scheduled date for the start of the Championship, after the two held meetings for months, the leadership of the Union will explain this Thursday its position before negotiating with the LFP, which disagrees mainly by the guarantee fund salary for players from clubs in bankruptcy law. AFE directive will offer a press conference in Madrid, who will attend international footballers who want to show their support for the Union, in a ceremony in which expected the announcement that the players do not they are willing to begin the competition in this situation. The past day 8 the President of AFE, Luis Rubiales, attended the concentration of selection to explain to international how is bargaining with the League. Iker Casillas, Captain of the Spanish national team and Real Madrid, and Barcelona David Villa are part of the leadership of the Union.

The positions of League and AFE are have distanced themselves even more in the last week following the adoption by the League of a guarantee fund to cover wage debts of clubs in competition until 2014-2015, initiative that the Trade Union considers inadequate. The Fund foresees that for the 2010-2011 season first clubs will have 7 million, to ensure 280,000 euros per player, and the second 3 million, 120,000 by footballer. From the 2011-2012 season and until the 2014-2015 first clubs will have 6 million (240,000 euros per player) and the second with 3 million (120,000 per player). Postures found in opinion of AFE agreement one-sided League has nothing to do with what is covered in the negotiating table and limits in an important manner the guarantees provided for in the above agreement despite having faced more serious problems at least in season 2010 / 2011. Does the League decided that this Fund is no longer valid if there are policy changes that will reduce their income, such as those coming from the pools, or if there is an amendment to the Bankruptcy Act according to the existing text to 29 July 2011?. That law is pending its final modification, probably in September, after it was approved in Congress on July 27. With change will prevail the sporting rules on the bankruptcy, so it will lower category those clubs that are not a day in the fulfilment of its obligations wage with athletes at the end of the season or another club. As for pools, the League currently receives 10 percent of the collection and can devote part of these funds to ensure the commitments with AFE. The newly approved law of the game, determines that shall be fixed by law the percentage or its equivalent, applicable to the revenue obtained from sports betting to determine the amount that will be subject to return to sport and sports competitions organized in Spain.
